Cotttage Food Law Update

Hello! I hope you are all enjoying these beautiful autumn days. I decided that it was time to add some updates to this chapter of my blog. Since it was summer we had to let the Cottage Food Law Bill take a back seat for a few months. The House and Senate were finished with the 2013 session, so there wasn’t much we could do any way.

A few weeks ago we had our very first, face to face meeting with our fellow bakers and supporters. In the past we have all communicated via cyberspace. Facebook and emails make it easier to communicate, but it still doesn’t take the place of sitting down to a chat and a cup of coffee with a real life, in the flesh, human being.

On September 24th, we had our second meeting, which Rep. Jim Newberger and Sen. Dave Brown were kind enough to attend. They had many good ideas and advice, and we really appreciate them taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us.

There are many things we need to do to prepare for the next session. Please check out our Facebook page, MN Cottage Food Law, for more detailed information if you’d like to help out and we thank you for your support!
